What is Google AdX?

Google Ad Exchange or simply Adx originated from DoubleClick Ad Exchange which was founded in 1996 as an ad server. It was acquired by Google in 2008.

Embarking on a digital journey, publishers navigate the tricky waters of advertising with the help of Google AdX. This powerful tool harnesses the power of real-time bidding (RTB) technology, moving ad inventory into an energetic dance of conversion.

Picture this: an open market, pulsing with the energy of a thousand digital pulses, where prices change in the blink of an eye. AdExchange, the master orchestrator, orchestrates the symphony of display ads and ad space allocation across the wide web.

Dealers can increase their profits from promotion space and gain access to a large pool of advertisers by controlling who can advertise on their site. Then again, buyers gain access to a much wider scope of sites and promotion space, with more command over their promotion situation.

How does Google Ads work?

Google Ad Exchange works by creating an open marketplace where buyers bid in real time for available ad space. Google AdX hosts three types of auctions.

Open Auction: During an open auction, publishers remain anonymous, and the auction is accessible to all publishers and advertisers. This type of auction is considered standard or fixed method.
Private Auctions: Unlike open auctions, private auctions allow publishers to directly target a specific group of advertisers.
Priority Deal: Under this arrangement, publishers make an offer directly to an advertiser, giving them exclusive access to selected inventory before it is available in a private or open auction. Advertisers can reserve placements on publishers whose brand is consistent with theirs or who demonstrate high conversion rates. However, this privilege comes at a higher price than participating in the auction process.

Managing and optimizing a Google AdX account requires more effort than using AdSense. This requires either an agency, an advertising team, or at the very least, a dedicated resource.

To get Google AdSense or AdX approval for your website, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Your website should have high-quality, original content.
  2. Your website must comply with Google’s AdSense and AdX policies.
  3. Your website should have a lot of traffic.
